2010 Morgan Ford Pet Parade

Official Rules and Releases

The Morgan Ford Pet Parade participant judging (“Judging”) begins at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 26, 2010 and ends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday June 26, 2010.  Parade sponsored by local area businesses making contributions in cash and in-kind to the event (“Sponsors”).

Eligibility:  Judging is open to individuals participating in and registered (as shown by a registration wristband) for the 2010 Morgan Ford Pet Parade (“Parade”).  Judging offered only in St. Louis, Missouri, to legal residents of the U.S. 18 years of age or older, or under 18 accompanied by a parent or guardian, who have registered their pet for the parade.  All federal state, and local laws and regulations apply, including local animal control regulations.  Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Entry Restrictions:  Tower Grove Business Association, through its Board Members, reserves the right to prohibit or disqualify any contestant from registering and/or participating in Judging or the Parade, if at its sole discretion, you show a disregard for, or attempt to circumvent these rules and regulations or act (a) in a manner that affects the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the Judging in any way; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or the Sponsors or any of them; or (c) in any other disruptive manner.  In the event of disqualification from Judging and/or parade participation, registration entry fee donation will not be refunded.

Entry Requirements:  Entrants must be registered (as shown by a registration number and/or wristband), present and participate in the Parade, and must be present between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.   Potential winners must be present at the Marti Frumhoff Memorial Garden (same area as registration) at or before 1:00 p.m. or they will not be eligible to win any prize.  Because the Tower Grove Business Association promotes the compassionate care of all pets, any entrants not exemplifying responsible pet ownership will not be considered.  Any costumes deemed by the Association, in its sole discretion, to be offensive, obscene, containing foul language or disparaging content toward any group, any of the Sponsors or any other person will not be eligible and may be disqualified from Parade participation.

Judging:  Preliminary judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. during registration.  Judges will be selected by the Tower Grove Business Association Board, in its sole discretion.  All decisions of the judges are final and binding.  Winners will be asked to appear on stage to accept their award, and will be asked a series of questions, including their pet’s name, breed, inspiration for costume, etc. 

Winner Notification:  The prize winners will be announced at the prize area at or around 1:00 p.m, following the final Judging.  Participants must be present to win.  If a winner is not present or is ineligible, his/her prize(s) will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be determined by the Judges.

Prize:  Various prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.  Prizes will be chosen by the Tower Grove Business Association, and may be substituted or changed at any time.  Prizes are not transferable or assignable.  Limit one prize per title.  Federal, state and local taxes, including sales tax, are the sole responsibility of the winners.

Affidavits and releases:  As a condition of participating in the Parade and Judging, and/or as a prize winner, you will be required to execute and deliver to TGBA, a signed Publicity Release and Release of Liability.  Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use the winners’ (pets and owners) name, biographical information, likeness and photos for purposes of advertising and promotion in all media, including on-line worldwide, without limitation or further compensation.

General Conditions:  By registering for the Parade, entrants accept and agree:  (a) to be bound by these Rules and Releases and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final, (b) that the TGBA and Sponsors, affiliates, agents and employees thereof are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:  (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information associated with or utilized in the Parade, Judging, award ceremony, or promotion of the same; (2) any design, typographical or other errors, omissions or deletions in any materials associated with the Parade; (3) illegible, incomplete, damaged or unprocessed entries; (4) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the TGBA or the Sponsors which may cause the Parade or award ceremony to be disrupted or corrupted; or (5) any loss, injury or damage of any kind caused by participation in the Parade, any other entrant in the Parade, or by the acceptance and/or use of any prize.
